The Padma Shri Krutartha Acharya Industrial Training Centre (ITI) or ITI Trade fair in Bhukta recently celebrated a milestone 20th Foundation Day. This significant event coincided with the 112th birth anniversary of the legendary Padma Shri Dr. Krutartha Acharya, a visionary whose contributions to the handloom industry and social welfare continue to inspire Odisha.
The ceremony was marked by the unveiling of a life-size statue of Dr. Acharya, serving as a permanent reminder of his dedication to craftsmanship and community development.





Distinguished Guests and Leadership Insights
The event brought together prominent leaders and educators, reinforcing the institution’s standing in the Bargarh district education landscape.
- Shri Pradip Purohit (MP, Bargarh): As the Chief Guest, he emphasized the role of technical education in nation-building and discussed the Government of India’s various developmental initiatives for the youth.
- Shri Suresh Acharya (MLA, Jatni): Attending as a Guest of Honor, he noted that Dr. Acharya was not just an individual but an institution, urging students to adopt his work ethic.
- Shri Prasanna Acharya (Chairman, PKGI): Presided over the meeting and officially inaugurated the statue, highlighting the growth of the PKA Group of Institutions.
- Dr. Pradip Kumar Hota: Provided a deep dive into the life and social contributions of Dr. Krutartha Acharya.
Promoting Technical Excellence: The ITI Trade Fair
A key highlight of the celebration was the ITI Trade Fair, which showcased the practical skills and technical prowess of the students.
- Project Exhibition: Students from six different ITI institutions presented 10 technical projects, demonstrating innovation in vocational training.
- Community Recognition: In a move that highlights the institution’s local roots, 10 high-achievers from various fields in the Ambabhona block were honored with citations.
- Media Acknowledgement: Local journalists were also recognized for their vital role in community storytelling.
Commitment to Quality Vocational Training
Under the leadership of Principal Rabindra Kumar Nayak and the coordination of Saroj Kumar Manjhi, the event successfully bridged the gap between historical legacy and modern technical education. The participation of students from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Bhukta, added a cultural depth to the proceedings.
